Step into Summer Style
Whether it's a seaside getaway or a relaxed staycation, summer's the season for a wardrobe refresh. Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Bonmarché, Cotton Traders and Klass Collection have their summer ranges in, with cool, comfortable and stylish pieces for every occasion. For breathable sandals and supportive walking shoes, Pavers has you covered from morning strolls to long sunny days out.

Keep the Kids Entertained
The summer holidays are perfect for children to enjoy the Pennies Day Nursery Summer Holiday Club, running from 21 July to 1 September; contact Pennies for full details and availability. And while summer's in full swing, it's worth getting a head start on the new term at Monkhouse Schoolwear Specialists — beat the back-to-school rush with uniform and essentials ahead of September.
Relax and Refuel
All that shopping (and cheering) builds an appetite. Take a break at Bricks Coffee House with a refreshing iced coffee or light lunch. Our friends at Coffee Corner Restaurant — known for their all-day breakfasts, hot meals and freshly made sandwiches — will be taking a short break later in the summer (see below), but they'll be back before you know it.
We're Getting Summer-Ready Too
We're not the only ones sprucing up for the season — the village is too! Over the coming months we're carrying out some essential roof refurbishment to keep Newnham Court looking its best and well protected for years to come. We've planned everything in phases so the village stays open throughout, with the vast majority of shops trading as normal and free, step-free parking right across the site.
Here's what to expect, and when:
Phase 1 (15 June – 3 August): The Butcher of Brogdale, AHM Installations and the Fineline Windows & Doors indoor showroom will be closed while work is carried out above their units. AHM and Fineline are still happy to arrange free home surveys and quotations in the meantime.
Phase 2 (3 August – 21 September): Coffee Corner Restaurant will be taking a short break — we'll miss our morning catch-ups, but they'll be back before you know it!
Phase 3 (21 September – 9 November): Klass, Bonmarché and the Notcutts Gift Shop will be closed during this final phase.
Everything else stays open as usual, so there's still a whole village of summer to enjoy — and every shop taking a break will be back looking better than ever.
Your Summer Starts Here
Enjoy free parking, with easy, step-free access throughout. From garden makeovers and match-day BBQs to summer fashion, family fun and home refreshes, Newnham Court Shopping Village has everything you need to make the most of the season. Come and visit us this summer — game, set and match.
We're giving the main centre at Newnham Court Shopping Village a bit of a makeover this summer and autumn! Some essential roofing works are being carried out, which means a handful of our shops will be temporarily closed while the work takes place. We know this might cause a little inconvenience, but it's all part of keeping Newnham Court Shopping Village looking its best for years to come.
Phase 2: 3rd August – 21st September Coffee Corner restaurant will be taking a short break — we'll miss our morning catch-ups, but they'll be back before you know it!
Phase 3: 21st September – 9th November Klass, Bonmarche, and the Gift Shop will be closed during this final phase.
The good news? The rest of the shopping village will be open as usual throughout, so there's still plenty to explore, whether you're popping in for a bite to eat at Bricks Coffee House, a browse around the Notcutts garden centre, or a wander with friends. We can't wait to welcome everyone back into the refreshed shops once the work is complete - and a huge thank you in advance for your patience and understanding while we get the job done.

It’s the perfect place to stock up for your celebrations.
Keeping Pets Safe on Bonfire Night
While fireworks are a highlight for many, they can be stressful for pets. Here are some simple ways to keep your furry friends safe and calm during the celebrations:
* Create a cosy hideaway: Give your pet a quiet space indoors where they feel secure.
* Block out noise and light: Close curtains and play background music or TV to reduce the sound of fireworks.
* Stay calm and reassuring: Pets can sense your emotions, so try to remain relaxed.
* Exercise before dark: Walk dogs earlier in the day before fireworks begin.
* Plan ahead: Speak to your vet about calming products if your pet struggles with anxiety.
Taking these steps will ensure both your family and your pets enjoy Bonfire Night safely.
